Israel Reports Successful Arrow Test With US Missile-Defense Partners

Israel’s Defense Ministry announced a successful planned test of the Arrow Weapon System on August 5, 2026. Participants included Israel’s missile-defense organization, the US Missile Defense Agency, the IDF and Israel Aerospace Industries.
The test and its setting
According to the announcement, the test took place at a central Israeli site as part of a multiyear development and upgrade program. The ministry presented it as continuing adaptation to changing threats, rather than the creation of an entirely new defense network.
Why an operational system keeps being tested
Arrow forms the upper tier of Israel’s air- and missile-defense architecture. The system connects threat detection and classification, command and control, and interceptors. Continued development therefore concerns a complete defensive system, not simply the launch of one missile.
What the test does and does not show
The test demonstrates ongoing Israeli-American defensive cooperation. The announcement supplies neither an overall interception-success percentage nor a full account of the test scenario, so it does not establish complete protection. The supported conclusion is that testing and improvement of an existing capability are continuing to address future missile threats.
