The restriction follows a violent confrontation near Carmel in the southern Hebron Hills. Police are investigating reports that two Israelis were assaulted, a claim of an attempted weapon grab and assault allegations involving both sides.

A court has barred Andrey Khrzhanovskiy, known as Andrey X, and Jasper Nathaniel from Judea and Samaria until January 1, 2027, following a violent confrontation near the community of Carmel.

Barred from Judea and Samaria until 2027

The restriction extends beyond the location of the confrontation, covering all of Judea and Samaria through the remainder of 2026.

It sets the conditions governing the two men's access to the area while the investigation continues.

Arrested after reports of an assault on Israelis

Police said the two men were arrested after officers and IDF forces responded to reports that two Israelis had been assaulted. Khrzhanovskiy holds Israeli citizenship, while Nathaniel is an American national. Both are known for their reporting and activism in support of the Palestinians in the area.

The incident occurred Wednesday evening in the southern Hebron Hills. Police are examining the circumstances of the violence, including competing accounts of how the confrontation began and the actions of those involved.

Channel 14 published an account describing a group of activists blocking Israeli residents' vehicle before a physical confrontation. That account included claims that residents were punched and kicked and that someone reached toward a resident's personal firearm. One resident sustained a facial injury and received treatment, the outlet said.

Investigators are examining the attempted weapon grab claim as part of the case.

Assault allegations involve both sides

Khrzhanovskiy and Nathaniel have also been described as victims of violence during the encounter. The Committee to Protect Journalists said their lawyer, Alon Sapir, told the organization that both men had been assaulted and that Khrzhanovskiy suffered a head injury requiring medical attention.

Police said investigators are examining allegations of assaults by both sides.
