Saudi Coalition Reports Dhahran Missile Interception After Booms Near Aramco

The coalition says missile debris fell in a residential area. Reuters reported loud booms near Aramco’s headquarters, while Saudi authorities also issued a warning for Riyadh.
The Saudi-led coalition said it intercepted a Houthi ballistic missile aimed at Dhahran on Tuesday, October 13, with fragments falling in a residential area. The announcement placed a civilian neighbourhood at the centre of an incident near the city that houses Saudi Aramco’s headquarters.
Reuters separately reported that six sources heard loud booms near the headquarters. That account and the coalition’s statement describe different aspects of the evening’s events; neither should be treated as a complete assessment of the damage.
What the coalition said
Coalition spokesman Turki Al-Maliki said the missile was destroyed and authorities were responding at the debris site. The Saudi Press Agency statement reproduced by Al-Madina gave no casualty figure or detailed damage assessment. Its Dhahran announcement concerned one missile, rather than a confirmed count of several missiles aimed at the city.
What is known about Aramco
Reuters also cited a source saying the headquarters had been hit. Aramco’s own contact information places its headquarters in Dhahran, in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province. Reports of booms nearby do not establish a direct missile impact or a disruption to oil production. The extent and cause of any damage remained unconfirmed by the company in the reporting reviewed.
Riyadh warning follows earlier threats
Saudi Civil Defense also issued a potential danger alert for Riyadh. Earlier, the Houthis had threatened Aramco facilities as tensions with Saudi Arabia escalated. Those threats provide context, but they do not by themselves establish the outcome of any attempted attack.
For residents, the debris report is a reminder that an interception and consequences on the ground can occur together. The outstanding questions concern injuries, the scale of property damage and whether any energy operations were affected.
